Car Battery & Electrical
we check, test, and sort car battery and electrical faults properly
A healthy car battery is the quiet hero of your car. When the battery is strong, everything feels normal. When the car battery is weak, the whole car can start acting off. At Gen-Tech, we check, test, and sort car batteries and electrical faults properly, so you are not stuck guessing.

Common problems we fix
Batteries and electrical
Car battery testing that tells the truth
A quick voltage check is not enough. We test your battery under load and look at how it behaves during cranking and charging. This shows the real health of the battery, not just a “looks ok” moment. If the car battery is borderline, we will tell you what that means in real terms, not vague percentages.
Car battery replacement
If the battery is past it, we replace it with the correct type and rating for your car. The right battery comes down to fitment, cold cranking power and how your car is used. Lots of short trips, city driving or extra accessories can push a battery harder than people expect.
Alternator and charging system checks
A new car battery will not last if the charging system is not right. We check alternator output, belt condition, voltage stability and key connections. Undercharging can slowly flatten a car battery. Overcharging can cook it. Either way, it costs money if it is missed.
Battery drains and electrical faults
If a battery keeps going flat, there is usually a reason. It might be a light staying on, a module not going to sleep, wiring issues or aftermarket add-ons. We track down the drain properly, so the battery stops being the victim and becomes reliable again.
Starter, earth points and cable checks
Sometimes the battery gets blamed when the real issue is a weak starter, tired cables or poor earth points. A good car battery still needs clean, tight connections to do its job. We check terminals, cables, corrosion and voltage drop across the system.
Car battery checks for performance and modified cars
Extra gear can change what the batteries must handle
Performance cars often run extra electronics, aftermarket ECUs, gauges, fuel system upgrades, sound systems or lighting. That can mean the factory spec battery is no longer the best match. We look at your setup and recommend a battery that suits how the car is actually used.
Short drives are tough on a battery
If the car does lots of short trips, the alternator may not have enough time to recharge the car battery properly. Over time, the car battery slowly drops in capacity. Regular checks keep you ahead of it.
Low voltage can look like bigger faults
Weird sensor faults and odd behaviour can sometimes come down to voltage. Before chasing expensive parts, it is worth checking the basics, starting with the battery and charging health.
Simple ways to help your car battery last longer
Give it a decent drive sometimes
A longer drive now and then helps recharge the battery properly, especially if most driving is short trips.
Keep terminals clean
Corrosion can reduce the power your car battery can deliver. Clean connections help the car battery do its job without extra strain.
Be careful with accessories
Dash cams, chargers, and add-ons can drain car batteries if wired poorly. If your battery keeps going flat, we can find the cause and fix it.
